Target Downfall

the reason i try not to shop at target
i went in to buy one book and left with a cart full of stuff.
i did however pick up one of my favorite target treats
please excuse the fact that everything is typed in lowercase letters, im typing this on my phone and its not letting me use uppercase letters.   my poor computer had an untimely death this week and its going to take two weeks for my new one to arrive.  i am proof its always best to buy the extended warranties.  r.i.p. hp laptop, you were the best shopping buddy a girl could ask for.   we spent hours online shopping together and you never complained once.

Back to life...Kinda

After a week of
And a weekend with friends from out of town

It's back to Raleigh for a week full of packing more boxes and cleaning for the big move on Friday.  It's hard to believe Thursday will be my last night at 1302 Cameron View Court, but I'm looking forward to the change and ready for everything to calm down and get back to a normal routine.  More moving updates to come!

Take Me Out to the Ball Park

It’s no Yankee’s Stadium, but it’s the best Morehead has to offer…
The Morehead City Marlins who play at the Big Rock Field aka…The Rock.

If you’re looking for a super wild and crazy Wednesday night in Morehead… this is probably not the place for you!  Yet, still a good time for a Wednesday night with the family.  And…they have my favorite baseball game food like hotdogs, pellet ice in the drinks, popcorn, ice cream, and PEANUTS (which just happen to be in my lap in this very picture).   The teams are made up of players from different college teams all over the country(Just like in the movie Summer Catch, with Freddie Prinze Jr.).
My Mom loves baseball (and sports in general) so my bothers usually go with her to the games and lately I’ve been tagging along when I’m home.  Mom had a great time…but not as great as this little guy in the red shirt.
Love at First Sight
Sometimes I wish I could still be entertained by a creepy guy wearing a marlin suit walking around the ball park waving his (fin?)randomly at the crowd.

Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose!

My absolute favorite TV show is without a doubt, Friday Night Lights.  However, last Friday night was the last time I will ever watch Coach Taylor lead his team to a State title because it was the series finale.  I have never seen a coach who can win States no matter how good or bad his team is besides Coach Taylor, aka Superman!

I can remember watching season one, and making sure it was DVR'd since I usually wasn't home on a Friday night and I HAD to see what the love of my life, Tim Riggins, was up to that week.  I would watch it every Monday during my 2 hour break between classes.  This was around the same time MTV had a reality football show called "Two A Days" which I also loved.  I will never forget John Parker Wilson, who was the quarterback and played at Alabama after leaving Hoover High.  I thought he was so cute and they also won States!
Friday Night Lights has a way of pulling in the viewer and making them feel like they personally know the characters.  I will miss that show and definitely cried during the last episode.  If you have never seen this show, I highly suggest watching it!
I could just see myself sitting around wearing a tank top, jorts, and cowboy boots enjoying a picnic with this fine group of characters!  haha

DIY...Coffee Table Tray Edition

Coffee table trays are one of my favorite ways to add character to a room.  My friend, Jessie, is a interior design fanatic and can make any room look like its straight out of a magazine.  With some help from her, I have been on the hunt for a cute tray for my new apartment.  However, I have only found ones that cost as much as what I spend on food for a month!

How cute are they, though?
So, my solution was to make my own.  I went to Michael's Saturday morning and hit the jack pot when I found the perfect tray.  I found a plain, white, wooden tray and went to town.  I love the way it turned out and it only cost me around 6 dollars!
Boring, plain, white, bla, bla, bla...

Da daaa,,, The Final Product

Excuse the cheap fake flowers, I'm leaving to go to the beach for a week tomorrow and just wanted to see how it would look once I'm in Raleigh long enough to use real flowers!

Congratulations Garison and Jim!!!

This weekend we threw Garison and Jim an engagement party at the Busy Bee!  Only a few more months till the big day, love y'all!

And only a month and a half till the bachelorette party!  Can't wait!

Schools out for Summer!

Our summer vacation is about half way over and I can't believe it!  Before long, I will have a brand new class with brand new stories to share!  However, since I'm not in school I have been doing a lot of beach sitting, boat riding, catching up on family time in Morehead, and PACKING!
One of my brothers and me on the 4th of July

I am moving in to a new apartment the last weekend of July and I have been doing a lot to get things ready so the actual move won't take FOREVER to do.  I HATE moving, and have been in my house now for a little over 2 years.  I love this place, but it's time to move in to a place of my own.  In preparation for the move I have built/put together 2 bookcases and an entertainment stand.  I went ahead and built them before the move because there is not as much room in my new place as my house now.  I also have a garage to keep them in until the move, so I figured I would occupy myself with a day full of building.  This was a great idea the first hour, however shortly after that I realized I should of probably used a drill and not just a screw driver.  I am VERY proud of my work...it only took me 6 full hours to compete on a hot summer day stuck in my garage!  Now, I just hope they make it through the move!

MY FINISHED MASTERPIECE!!!

After the move, I'll post pictures to show how these little pieces of heaven look post moving truck.

Jumping on the Bandwagon

Since I don't work during the summer, I thought this would be the perfect time to jump on the blog bandwagon and finally have a place to share all of the crazy stories I have from being a kindergarten teacher.  My friends and family have been trying to get me to start this for a while now and I have finally gotten around to it.  Once school starts I will probably not be able to update the blog as often as my Mom would probably like, but I'll try hard to update it as often as I can.
As a kindergarten teacher my daily wardrobe consists of skinny jeans, flats, and a casual sweater or shirt.  I do envy girls who have jobs that call for shopping sprees in the JCrew suit department...however, I just don't think a beautiful suit is the appropriate attire (or will hold up) while I am dodging my little angels' tiny messy hands after finger painting their mini masterpieces.  But, hats off to those of you fashionistas who lead the Glam Work Attire life.  Online forever 21 has become my go-to non fail place for CHEAP cute clothes that won't cause an instant panic attack if they get destroyed.  Unpredictable scissors and flying markers have minds of their own, especially when accompanied by tiny kindergarten hands.
