Wedding Season

Wedding number one of the 2012 wedding season is complete and it was an incredibly fun and beautiful wedding!  The reception was held at CAM (Contemporary Art Museum) in downtown Raleigh and was an awesome location for a wedding reception!  Congratulations to the Vukinas!!!

Spring Fever

Spring Fever has hit my classroom, hard!  Today I caught my 5 year olds passing a note...this is ironic because they can't really write that well, yet!  I guess bad habits start young, but how cute is this little note!!!

The translation of this note for people who are not use to reading kindergarten writing is....to Eric, with a heart over his name, come to my house and play.  Love Savannah.  Even though I had to act like I was disappointed in them for passing notes, inside I was dying trying not to laugh.

We read this cute little book today about two brother pigs who find a surfboard while treasure hunting on the beach.  

We made these cute little surfboards in writing today to go along with the story.  They had to write what they hoped they would find if they went treasure hunting.  The discolored skinny triangle on the bottom is actually a fin that sticks out and when I took the picture it cast a slight shadow instead of showing up.

Field Day

 Today I found out that this lovely picture will be in the yearbook this year...just great!  Now, my kids can always look back and remember their crazy kindergarten teacher as someone with a desk that looks like a tornado went by, who always has an expo marker in her hand, and who is more than likely looking for something she lost.  This is pretty much a normal Monday for me, and now...this pretty little gem will be in print forever...great!  ANYWAYS, on to more fun things...FIELD DAY!!!

"We want to be just like you Miss Jones, so we brought our sunglasses to wear at recess today!"  They always give me a reason to smile and be thankful!  We had field day last Friday, I am going to try to put up some pictures of it tomorrow!  Hope everyone has a great week!

Field Trips and Spring Break!

 This week is Spring Break!!!  However, due to the massive amounts of pollen and my terrible allergies I have not been able to enjoy it...YET!  But, I plan on leaving tomorrow to head to my Parent's where hopefully the ocean breezes will make it bearable for me to breath outside once again!  I never had bad allergies until I moved to Raleigh for college and it seems like they have gotten progressively worse every year. 
Anyways, enough about pollen and on to a recap of our FIELD TRIP!  The last day of school before we got out for break I took my little Lovebugs to Marbles Kids' Museum.  They had the time of their lives, and I think I played just as much, if not more, as they did!  If you have any kids, or nieces/nephews I highly suggest an afternoon at Marbles, it's amazing!
