When it's cold outside...

It's been really cold lately...Friday we got out of school 4 hours early and now tomorrow we have a 3 hour delay because of freezing rain...this sounds great, but I have a problem...I don't exactly have the right shoes/clothes to stay warm.  And, this is even worse now since all the summer and spring lines are out and I want it to magically warm up so I can wear cute wedges and dresses instead of Uggs and sweaters!

Birthday Wishes

It's mid January which means, we're almost near my birthday month and it's time to start making my wishlist!!!  Like most girls, I like to devote the whole month to my birthday instead of just the day!  This year I'm wishing for a few of my favorite things...
1.  Watch...I'm in need, mine get a lot of wear and tear at work!

2.  Stationary...I can always use new stationary

3.  Wine Glasses...these Crate and Barrel are my favorite but they tend to break pretty easily so now I need 2 more to replace ones from my last set!
4.  Cross Necklace...I've had this necklace since my sweet brother and his girlfriend gave it to me for my last birthday, however I NEVER take it off...so its about time for a replacement to say the least!
5.  I'm super excited because my Mom and Dad are giving me a new duvet cover for my bed, but it's on back order until the end of March!  I guess the saying is right, "all good things come to those who wait!"
6.  Coffee Table Books!  I can always use new coffee table books!
7.  Flowers!  Flowers always make a girl feel special on her birthday!
8.  Gift Cards...Everyone loves a gift card, you just can't go wrong!

Hope everyone is having a happy hump day!  I'm looking forward to a long weekend coming up!  I'm heading to Nashville to help celebrate one of my sweet friends, Stephanie, for her bachelorette weekend!!!

Spiderman, are you there?

I have a student that is OBSESSED with Spiderman.  He also loves to talk on the phone, A LOT.  Anything he picks up can be a phone, pencils, erasers, glue sticks, even rocks.  Sometimes, if he's been good I let him call Townsend's voicemail and he just talks to himself for about 5 minutes.  Townsend doesn't even have to answer!  So, today at recess one of the girls I work with and I thought it would be funny to let him call Spiderman.  She called her husband and had him pretend to be Spiderman, and Christopher flipped out!  It was probably the best day of his 5 years of life!  I love my job for the small moments like this!
A little skeptical at first.

Field Trip

In our first week back at school we have already gone on our first field trip of 2013 to The North Carolina Museum of Natural Science!!!  We had so much fun and I loved getting to see everything through the eyes of my beautiful students!
The live snakes were not exactly my favorite part, but the kids LOVED it!

Julia's footprint compared to a dinosaur's!

I love this picture because you can see how amazed and interested each and every one of them were in all the different exhibits!
Then this weekend my brother and Jordan came to visit and we had an amazing time hanging out and going to fun dinners with them!  I miss them so much and it makes me so happy when we all get to hangout!
