Weekend Recap

 I loved every single crazy, rushed, minute of last weekend!   We went home for a wedding in Atlantic Beach which also meant I got to see my FAMILY!  Townsend was such a champ and just played along while we squeezed a combo of family time in with all the wedding craziness!  Luckily, the Friday night Rehearsal Party was at the same place that we had our family dinner so that helped tame the madness a little!

 Saturday we just hung out on the beach during the day then went to Christina and Will's Wedding!  It was a beautiful day for a wedding and we had a blast!

I had so much fun visiting, celebrating, and catching up with one of my favorite little bride-to-bes, Elise!  I wish we lived closer, but short visits are better than no visits!!! xoxo

Twin weekend started off pretty strong at The Ivy

Taylor Swift was in town...apparently she brings out all sorts of crazies, but at least they are friendly

 

We had to end the night at Johnny's, it wouldn't be an official twin weekend with out going there!

Here's to another week, but Friday I get to see my FAMILY!!!!  And I CAN. NOT. WAIT!!!!!  4 more days to go!

Field Trip

Last week we went on our big field trip to Marbles Museum!  Look how adorable my class is, I love them to pieces!

 I love going out of town and spending weekends away, however I was so excited to get to finally have a night out with my Raleigh girls!  I miss spending time with them now that everyone is so busy, but we had a great weekend and I love every single one of them!

Lake Lure, Bedroom Updates, etc...

 For the last weekend of spring break this year, Townsend and I went to the lake and just spent all day on the boat being lazy in the sun!  I got some much needed rest and even started reading a new book on my kindle!!!

 I'm not going to lie, I was very skeptical of this whole "lake" idea since I grew up at the beach.  I honestly had never really been to a big lake until this year, besides to walk around Lake Johnson, but that lake is more like a big pond compared to Lake Lure!  However, I will admit I am slowly converting and find myself loving going to the lake...put me on a boat and in a bathing suit and I'm a happy girl!  Not to mention how beautiful Lake Lure is surrounded by the mountains! 

Over Spring Break I also FINALLY finished getting my bedroom all put together.  Before last week, I had been sleeping on the same pink and green bedding from Pottery Barn Teen since college.  So, this year for my birthday I decided it was time to ditch the preteen look and go for a more adult feel. 

 

 For my birthday this year my Parents were so amazing and they bought me new bedding!!!  It was of course on back-order and then the monogramming place took 3 weeks instead of the normal 7-10 business days so it felt like I would be stuck with the pink and green forever!  

However, I am happy to say it is all finally here and I am finally excited about making my bed in the mornings again!  

I'm still in search for one or two bright floral patterned accent pillows to put in front of the monogram shams instead of the one that is there now, but this will have to do until next payday...

 Sorry the picture quality isn't the best, I took it with my phone this morning on my way out the door to work!  A lot of loooooong hours and literally blood went in to getting this final look all put together!  The bench cover, and two long pillow shams were all originally a shower curtain from Target that I cut up and sewed together!  

It was a lot cheaper than buying fabric at a nice fabric store, and the navy vertical stripes were just what I was looking for!  However, the amount of times I poked myself with a needle while sewing was a little ridiculous, next time I am buying a sewing machine before I take on a project like this one!!! 

Over break I also stopped at Hobby Lobby when I was home for a dentist appointment!  Everything in the store is like 40-50% off and I picked up some great things for super cheap...I'm talking 8$ for this vase!  SCORE!

Spring Break

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!  I am now on SPRING Break, however since the weather is not cooperating with me, I will be spending mine going to the dentist and finally catching up on the small things I need to do around my house!  I hate being a grown up sometimes.  Last weekend I went with Townsend to Debordiue for the weekend and the weather was beautiful but still not warm enough for anything besides walking on the beach and late after noon cocktails. 

There was a fun little cocktail party Saturday night down at the beach club with a band and all the fried shrimp I could ever want.

Right before we got our for Spring Break, I had my annual Easter Egg Hunt for my classroom!  It was one wild day, but the kids had a blast! 

 The before shots...I stayed at work pretty late last week after the kids left getting ready for the big day!

I made them separate, count, and then graph their eggs by what colors they found...I know, I'm a mean teacher for not just letting them eat the candy.  I had to justify it to my Principal by tying it into a lesson for math that day, haha.
