Thanks to a little friend by the name of Irene dropping in and bringing gifts of torrential downpours and gail force winds I was forced to stay inside ALL DAY. However, I could be stuck in Morehead with the rest of my poor family without power...aka a very A.D.D person stuck inside with no tv, computer, or air conditioning...eqauls Hell (Especially for everyone else that has to be around me! haha) Thinking and praying for everyone of y'all back home! Even though I am fortunate enough to have power I still had to stay inside all day, so of course being the A.D.D person I am, I decide to fix up a few things in my little apartment while watching The Rachel Zoe marathon all day and jamming out to Beyonce's new album until its time to go to one of my friends' husband's big 30th birthday! Happy Birthday Doug! I am proud to say the results of my day are very satisfying!
Project 1...Make Jello Shots for the party tonight
Can't attend a party with out a gift! |
Project Number 2...Picture Frame Facelifts
After the jello shots were finished I started working on some wooden picture frames that needed little facelifts. Since I can't afford really cute things from cute design studios, I have to make my own. They are not perfect, but I love them, especially after knowing all the hours it took to finish them!
Step one...before the facelift (as much as I love NC State, the colors just don't match my house) |
Lots and lots of concentration...lots... |

Project Number 3...cute wooden box from Michael's to make fabulous
One of my picture frames and my new box...neither one are in the same spot now, they have traveled all over my living room from bookcase, to coffee table to, side table, etc. |
Project Number 4...Valance
I have this awkward space at the top of my dividing wall in my apartment that is kind of like a window...its weird and needed to be covered up. I have no money to buy a gorgeous valance so I was forced to make my own. I also do not have a sweet little handyman around to build one for me, so I took on the challenge and it paid off! I bought a beautiful shower curtain from target and went to town with it!
Awkward space before the valance...The curtains on the other side work wonderful for my room but do not look so well from the backside hanging over my tv! |
Supplies...foam board that I hot glued to a curtain rod and a shower curtain that I cut and hot glued on to the foam board. |
Love it! My next project is going to be making a few pillows out of the left over fabric. Cloth shower curtains are huge and a great way to save money on fabric! |
Final Project...Wine Box
So the wine box I had in my little bar was hot pink and green polkadot which was really cute when I was a sophmore in college living in the ADPi house, but not so cute for my big girl home that I live in now.
