More Updates

So, since I posted my last post we have been really busy in my classroom working on fall/Halloween things.  Thanks to a wonderful teacher who has an AMAZING blog, Doodle Bugs Teaching, I found the cutest idea for our spider unit.
However, I had to add some instructional elements to the cute spiders so I could justify making cute crafts!  Our school is an International Baccalaureate Magnet School, (also known as an IB Magnet School) which basically means we incorporate other countries in to everything we teach.  So, I incorporated some Spanish flare to our creepy crawlers!

On little sentence strips under the spiders, I had my students write, "This is my spider." Then on the line underneath that they wrote the same sentence in Spanish, "Esta es mi arana."
We also had color week...unfortunately I only took pictures 3 out of the 5 days.  I missed red and blue day but orange, yellow, and green are enough for you to see how cute it was!

I also made a cute little candy corn game where they have to match he capital letter, lowercase letter, and letter sound picture.  They loved it!

AND.....believe it or not, I do have a life outside of my classroom.
One of my favorite people came in town for a UNC game
Garison and Jim had an amazing stock the bar party at Jessie's house.  It was a perfect fall themed party complete with an oyster roast, hay bales, and a low country boil.  Jessie and Mason did an awesome job with all the small details that made it so great!
I also went to a little birthday party for one of our good friends, Stephanie on Wednesday night!  Happy Birthday, Steph!
This is clearly not from Wednesday night, but I didn't take any pictures that night of the birthday girl!
Hope everyone has a great week, I can't believe Halloween is just a week away.  We are going on a field trip to the pumpkin patch and corn maze Friday, so I will have some cute updates for next week!
